Re:Unable to get this working 1 Year, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi there,

I am using OpenFire 3.6.4 with Joomla 1.5.15 and the Joomla Openfire plugin. I had it all working fine on Joomla and users could log in and chat through Sparkweb and everything was great. Then I upgraded my CentOS Kernel and restarted the server last night. I hadn't restarted Openfire since I set it up (Edit: I have restarted Openfire itself numerous times fine, but just not with this plugin installed and configured... and working). But since the server restarted I also had to restart Openfire.

However I got an error. When restarting Openfire it seems to strip out some various lines in the openfire.xml conf file mentioned earlier in the thread which I was using it and give an error that it can't connect to the database because no password was given. Well thats because it stripped it out of the xml file. How is it supposed to match whats in the database if it strips out the info? I have the info in my ofProperty table and it was working fine before. Users don't get entered into the jos_openfire_users table when they log in anymore though. So I am hoping someone has a minute to help me out somehow.

I originally had used the openfire.xml file posted in here and it worked fine but then that last person posting says that it only works on Java 1.5 and I don't seem to have that in CentOS repos. I only have 1.6 and maybe I see 1.4 but I am not sure, but either way there is no 1.5. Plus it was working before perfectly, why doesn't it want to work now? I knew it wouldn't be this easy.

If you can please help that would be great. It is a simple small chat for a wedding site. I don't know what else to do. If you want more info just let me know what and I can send it.

Thanks! =)

Ryan

Hey myn900, thanks for your reply.

Oh I wish I did speak other languages. I will some day maybe. I know a tiny tiny bit of French but thats about it.

Yes I can log into mysql with the user fine.

This forum sucks I can't post anything on it. You have so many nice things on this site but this forum is just no good. I tried to post my xml files and error logs and even tried attaching a zip but nothing works.

Ok maybe this will work then. I added a myresponse.txt to a zip file with some other things in it. the myresponse.txt explains things and was my original response that wouldn't post for some reason or other. If this message doesn't post I give up.
