I am using the latest version of Tagbot, 1.0.8Beta with Joomla 1.x.

But even though I change various parameters in the plugin, the changes doesn't show up on the page itself.

For example, even though I have Display location set to "After" it shows right under the article title (in my Joomla blog page). And even though I have Display Text set to something else it still says "Tag it"

ALso how can I change it so the tags are shown horizontal instead of stacked on top of each other vertical?

Is the Joomla Content Cache enabled? If it is then your changes will not show up until after the cache has expired. The expiry is set in the global configuration.
