AjaxChat 2.0 is an open source multiuser, group chat system for Joomla. It is completely customizable and does not require a separate chat server. A simple Joomla component install to have a functioning community chat.

How it works
Administrator installs and publishes the AjaxChat Component and Modules.
When a user logs into the website, they can private chat with other members browsing the website, or add shouts to the shoutbox.
Users can choose to enter the Chatrooms created by the administrator, and chat with other chatters.
Administrators can monitor users and chat messages, engage in chat or private message as well as ban any user.

Joomla AjaxChat Rooms and Users modules
Installation
Download and install the Joomla CMS if you haven't.
Download the AjaxChat extensions. You need the rooms and users modules as well.
Install all three extensions in the Joomla extensions manager
Create a menu link for AjaxChat in the Joomla menu manager
Publish the rooms and users modules on the AjaxChat menu link you created. This is done via the Joomla module manager.
Configure AjaxChat through the component menu. You can change the header, add rooms, modify the template etc.
Visit the AjaxChat component menu link you created for the Group Chat.
