Joomla Speedy Plugin is a plugin for Joomla that will install the PHP Speedy Library and configure it through the Plugin's parameters. The PHP Speedy Library is not our project, we only offer the plugin that integrates this project with Joomla.

PHP Speedy is a PHP library designed to optimize the download speed of your PHP website. It merges multiple JavaScript and CSS files into a single file, minifies them, and also uses Gzip for on the fly compression of the HTTP output. PHP Speedy is a project maintained by AcidDrop. PHP Speedy Plugin for Joomla
The Joomla Speedy Plugin will install the PHP Speedy Library, as well as allow you to configure each of its settings through the Joomla Speedy Plugin parameters.
Joomla Speedy Plugin Compatibility
The Joomla Speedy Plugin is compatible with Joomla1.0 and Joomla1.5 Native.

Joomla Speedy Installation and Configuration

After downloading the latest Joomla Speedy Plugin, you will install it just as you will any other Joomla Plugin.

Then all you need to do is configure the Parameters of the Plugin, and make sure it is published. It will then optimize every page on your Joomla site.

If you want to test the Speedy Plugin wihout affecting other users on your site, then turn on the debug mode setting in the parameters. This allows you to define when to run the Speedy Plugin by placing speedy=1 in the url parameters. eg: example.com/index.php?speedy=1

Do I need to download the PHP Speedy Library from the PHP Speedy Project?
No, you just need to install the Speedy Plugin, the PHP Speedy Library is included in the plugin and will be installed by the plugin.
Do I need to edit the configuration file manually?
No, not at all, you only need to edit the Speedy Plugin Parameters via the Joomla Administration Panel. This will be used as the configurations for the PHP Speedy Plugin.
How do I tell if Joomla Speedy Plugin is working properly?
After installing and publishing the plugin, view the HTML Source of any of your pages. There should only be one JavaScript and one CSS file in the HEAD section of your page. This will contain all merged CSS and JavaScript, Minified and Gziped if you enabled them. If you have Firefox and the Firefox Extensions Firebug and YSlow, you should be able to view the HTTP Requests and see a decrease in requests, as well as download amount and time.
